thanks to adv. 副词由于; 多亏, 因为 It was thanks to John that we won the game. 多亏约翰，我们才赢了这场比赛。thanks for the doctor是不对的,应该是Thanks sb.I thanked her for the present she sent me. 我感谢她送给我礼物。
