information 是不可数还是可数?

楼上的, 前面有人用a piece of 作家具的量词是对的。请参见英语用法词典。而article这个词是否一定可以修饰家具我保留意见。article这个词在商务英语中表示“标的”，也就是货物名称。如果用来表示家具的批次和类别，按你的说法也未尝不可。楼主，对于information为什么是不可数的道理，我想给你讲最简单的道理。machine，机器，可数，但是同样表示机器的machinery为什么就不可数呢？因为machinery= a group of machines 一组机器。机器机械的总称。information是动词 inform的名词形式，表示新闻、公告、见闻等等各种渠道和形式的信息，属于集体名词，含有复数的概念，但作单数对待。（当然，其他的集体名词针对个体而言是可以作复数对待的，即使如此，名词的形式也是单数）反过来，有的名词是复数形式，可是它又偏偏不是表示复数而是不可数的。如：earnings 收入，是由动名词赚钱，收入加s而来，就不是强调动作而是结果了。虽然加了s，可不是复数。一些学科加了s，也不是复数如：经济学economics物理学physics等等。
