不定代词是指不指明代替任何特定名词或形容词的代词。分为三类：1）普通不定代词：some, any, no; somebody, anybody, nobody; someone, anyone, no one; something, anything, nothing, nothing; one, none2）个体不定代词：all, every, each, other, another, either, neither, both; everybody, everyone, everything3）数量不定代词：many, much, few, a few, little, a lot of, lots of, a great deal, a great many在这些不定代词中，多数都能作主语、宾语、表语或定语，但代词none和含有some, any, no, every的合成代词，只能作主语、宾语和表语，every和no只能作定语。
