other其它的(adj），后面接名词，如：other peoplethe other另一个（常用于两者之间，如one...the other短语中）。others其它的人或物（n.)。这里是名词的性质，相当于other后面加了名词。如Some students are reading, and others (other students) are writing.the others定指others。another另一个（不只有两个物体，是除了现有之外的任意一个）。如：I don't like this cat. Please give me another one.如果是please give me the other one.那么就是可供选择的就只有两个，非此即彼。
