Long long ago on Ma Lan mountain boasted a Malan flower with supernatural power to make people's wishes come true. A handsome brave young saint named Malang was the guardian of the Ma lan flower. Under the mountain, there were two beautiful twin girls. One was called "DaLan" and the other was called "XiaoLan`". Both of them fell in love with Malang. DaLan always dreamed of luxurious life so she lightly gave up the chance for happiness. Xiao Lan won Malang's heart with her diligence and goodness（小兰用勤劳和善良赢得了马郎的心）. The couple got married and led a happy and harmonious life on the Ma Lan mountain with animals. On the mountain there was an evil Wolf who had long coveted “Malan flower" and wanted to master the flower so that it could carry out an evil scheme. The wicked wolf murdered Xiao Lan through by an insidious trick and engrossed the Malan flower. .Ma Lan saw through Wolf’s ruse and fought against it bravely .But the dying wolf destroyed the Ma Lan flower. Ma Lang buried the Ma Lan flower in the earth with animals and cried out for the renascence of the Ma lan flower with their soul. Eventually their behave moved sky-god. Ma Lan flower broke through the soil and blossomed out again. Xiao Lan was also reborn in the Ma Lan flower.The newly rehearsed Music Legend Play “Ma Lan Hua” is re-composed according to the former edition which was very popular and famous in the 50s. This new legendary play is directed by Su Leci , a renowned state-level director, who is a professor of the director apartment of Shanghai Theater Academy. The music was composed by Jin Puzai , a renowned state-level music composer ,who is a professor at the Shanghai conservatory of music. This play will be performed by the children’s art theatre of China Welfare Institute. The premiere will be staged at Shanghai Oriental Art Center - Opera Hall on September 14 2005.
