是动词加介词构成的动词短语。通常如果该短语后面的对象是名词，则名词可以放在这个短语的动词和介词之间，也可以放在介词的后面。如：pick up the flower = pick the flower upput the hat on = put on the hat但如果动词短语的对象是诸如it, him, them等的代词，则这些代词就只能放在动词和介词之间，而不能放在介词的后面。如：take off your coat = take your coat off = take it off (不能说take off it).同理，上面的例子只能是hand in in, try them on, take it off，代词要放在中间。
