a type/kind/sort of + 可数名词单数/ 可数名词复数，谓语用复数；如果接不可数名词，谓语用单数。所以 are 没错。 What type/kind / sort of flowers are these? This sort of thing can't go on. --"I have no ideas for Ann's present." --"Do you know the type of jewlry she prefers?"
