这两个词都作连词，引导让步状从。“虽然。。。。。。但是”不能与but连用，但可以用yet或still。 although 较正式，多用于句首。though多用于非正式场合。eg。Although(Though) he is in pool health,(yet) he works hard。 =He is in poor health,but he works hard。但以下场合不用although。1。 表示强调时要用even though;eg。 Even though he feels tired,he is still working on。2。 though 可用于倒装句中。 eg。 Young though he is, he is quiote experienced。3。though 可作副词，表示“然而”，放在句末或其它位置。 eg。 he said he won't come;he didn't,though。。

though较为普通；although较为正式．although常用在位于主句之前的状语从句中，而且although总是放在句首，though可以放在倒装句中．如：虽然他很努力，但他考试没有及格．Although he worked hard,he failed in the exam.他虽然年轻，但很有经验．Young though he is ,he is quite experienced.
