介词+ 关系代词主要根据前边的动词（通常是不及物动词）来确定;I want to find a room to live in。i wanted to find a room in which I can live。The bus on /in which he travelled leads to the post office 。The bus which he takes(这里不用介词， 因为take是及物动词）leads to the post office。The station at which he stayed was a big one。The station which he reached was a big one。 (不用介词)。The reason for which he was late was not a good one。(=why)。The house for which they were hunting was too expensive。The house which they found/hired was near mine。(不用介词)。。

这类的关系代词连接定语从句关键看前面的先行词和后面的从句之间的关系。如果后面的从句是在先行词的里面，表示在先行词的里面有什么，用in which。如果在先行词的上面有什么用on which。如果在依靠，利用先行词用 by which。想表达为了先行词用for which。at which表示时间的意思相当于when。还有during which,表示在先行词之间。
