也许可以直译，我认为也可以达到让外国人理解的效果：like a stone sunken to the bottom of the sea.

个人认为好像外国人一般表达没这样的,我实在表达不了不会浮起来!但有一句谚语供参考:call a theft to catch a theft.让theft catch theft ,会不会像石沉大海?不知有没有浮起来的感觉!哈哈!
